The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Southeast Minnesota (NAMI) needs volunteers to answer the telephone for our Warmline: a non-crisis, confidential, understanding peer connect phone line for those living with Mental Illness or seeking Mental Health support.
Trained Warmline volunteers answer phone calls and provide a listening ear, providing compassion and encouragement without judgment. Volunteers must have actively received mental health services for personal recovery. They empathize with those who reach out to find someone who can relate and offer hope - no one is ever alone. The impact in both lives of those who call and volunteer adds a positive outlook for the future of understanding mental illness.
